Welcome to the world, baby Nadia Anastacia Wasim.

Stork News: Wasim Babar and Coady-Ella Watson welcomed their third child, a daugh­ter, Nadia Anastacia Wasim on 1 April 2025 at Cowra Hospital, weighing 3.7kg. Nadia is a little sister to brother Solomon (6) and sister Alia (2). Congratulations!

Wrap With Love: The next Wrap With Love meeting is on Thursday 24 April from 10am12pm, so grab your needles and wool and head along for an enjoyable morning. The Canowindra knitters were thrilled to receive recognition for their efforts in a recent Wrap With Love newsletter, which read: “Rugs to Armenia: 15 boxes full of beautiful wraps have been packed to go to Armenia…thanks to all groups including Eugowra, Condo and Canowindra knitters. Thank you from Wrap With Love. Great job.” Keep up the great work!

Food Basket Extended Hours: Food Bas­ket will be open for extended hours due to Public Holiday closures during the school holidays on Good Friday and Anzac Day. On Thursday 17 and Thursday 24 April, Food Basket will be open from 12pm-4pm to give people time to shop the day before these public holidays.

Gooloogong Markets: Make the most of the beautiful autumn weather and head along to the Gooloogong Park Markets this Sunday, 13 April from 9am – 1pm. Expect all your favorite stalls and some new faces, like Koyama Kitchen serving up mouthwa­tering Japanese street food, the cheese wizards at Second Mouse Cheese Mak­ers crafting artistic cheeses and toasties, and Twisted Chip with their funky flavoured chips on sticks. The Orange Pie Co is roll­ing in with a gluten-free feast, and OMG Donuts promises extra supplies so eve­ryone can indulge. Don’t forget the Horse Trail Riding Group, who will have those sausages sizzling, and Romanian Delights are also back. Plus, you’ll find fabulous soaps, sparkling jewellery, stunning wood­work, leather goods, sewing masterpieces, jams and produce, quirky bric-a-brac, art, craft, and a whole lot more!

Balloon Colouring Competition: Grab a copy of the balloon colouring competition, proudly sponsored by Foodworks Canow­indra, from this week’s Canowindra Phoe­nix. All completed entries should be placed in the box provided at Foodworks by 5pm Thursday, 17 April. You can also drop your entires off to Balloon HQ at the Canowindra Phoenix Office. Get colouring!

A wonderful Sunday morning for a flight. Canowindra International Challenge Balloon Director, Brendo Mulloy, along with Steve Campbell and joined by Annette Thomas and young Billy as crew, took to the skies on a glorious morning in Canowindra.
