Congratulations To Peter Jones 2024 DUX: Congratulations to Peter Jones, Canowindra High’s DUX for 2024. Peter achieved an amazing Band 6 in Advanced Mathematics and an E4 in Mathematics Extension which is also equivalent to a Band 6. We wish Peter the best of luck as he heads to the University of NSW to undertake Electrical Engineering.

Community Group of the Year: Canowindra Christmas Day Lunch members proudly accepted the 2025 Australia Day Award for Canowindra Community Group of the Year. This was accepted on behalf of all current and past members, volunteers, supporters and contributors. This belongs to everyone. A Christmas Day Lunch meeting is scheduled for 2pm on Wednesday, 19 February at the Canowindra Bowling Club to recap last year’s lunch and begin looking forward to Christmas Lunch 2025.
Canowindra Street Party Update: 26 April will see the Canowindra Street Party once again bring Gaskill Street to life with market stalls, food from our local community groups, live music, the BBQ Competition and more. Due to a scheduling issue, Furnace and the Fundamentals are unable to attend the Street Party, but will be at the May 2 Home Ground Sounds Concert being held as part of the Balloon Week activities, at the Canowindra Sports Complex with gates opening at 5pm. Artists performing on the night include – Furnace and the Fundamentals, Big Night Out, Nathan Lamont and stay tuned for one more Aria Award and multi Golden Guitar Award winning artist to be announced. eID Underway In Saleyards: The Local Land Services Sheep and Goat eID project team has been busy with the first key date in the sheep and goat eID timeline for producers and agents. The team has been on hand at the first sales of the year at Mudgee, Cowra and Carcoar, overseeing the first successful eID scans and supporting agents and producers through the changes.
eID tagging for sheep and goats came into effect on 1 January 2025.
