National Commemorative Service: 25th Anniversary Of Australian Service In Timor-Leste: A national commemorative service will be held in Canberra on Friday 20th September, recognising the 25th anniversary of Australian service in Timor-Leste.
Australia’s deployment of troops to East Timor in 1999 was the largest since the Vietnam War. This anniversary provides the opportunity to honour and remember these Australians and remember the six Australians who lost their lives whilst deployed, or as a result of their service, in Timor-Leste.

CHS Students Success At Forbes Show: Last Friday 6th September, ten students from Canowindra High School travelled to the Forbes Show to participate in the junior judging competition, hosted by Forbes Show Society. The categories were: meat sheep, meat merino sheep, merino wool classing, grains, fruit and vegetables. The students also participated in the dairy cattle judging. The students had success on the day, most notably: Megan first place judging in fruit and vegetables, and Hayley, Olivia, Thomas and Tommy all receiving encouragement ribbons. All Canowindra students made the top 10, congratulations!
The CHS students had a great time at the Forbes Show.
