Celebrate Biodiversity! Local Land Services celebrate Biodiversity Month every September and promote the importance of connecting with nature and caring for nature in all its diversity.
Biodiversity is the variety of all life forms on earth – the different plants, animals and micro-organisms, and the ecosystems that are their homes. Did you know that Australia is 1 of a group of 17 “mega-diverse” countries? Mega-diverse countries cover less than 10% of the world’s area but contain more than 70% of its biodiversity.
Local Land Services support biodiversity year-round, but every September they work with local communities to host events to raise awareness and help you connect with nature. For full details on all of the events available go to: www.lls.nsw.gov.au/regions/central-tablelands/events
