3 More Sleeps to Christmas: Are you all prepared? Have you done your Christmas Shopping, and prepared your list for Christmas
lunch or do you still have something to buy on your shopping list. With some recent figures released it is amazing what we consume on the big day. 2.5 million mangoes will be sold by Woolworths in the lead up to Christmas, and 100 tonnes of oysters will be moved through Woolworths as well. As a nation, we are expected to spend $28b on our credit and charge cards and $24.5b on debit purchases this Christmas. With the weather uncertain, with the likelihood of a shower on Christmas Day make sure you are organised with umbrellas if you are spending time near the beach or water. There is a low pressure trough which will be sitting in the Tasman Sea and as we know from the past 12 months, the weather is very unpredictable at the moment. If you are travelling overseas in 2017 get in before Christmas and lodge your application for a passport as prices increase by $20 from lst January, 2017.

Canowindra Services Club memberships are due on 31st December, so remember to get down to the Club to renew them on time.

The Canowindra P A & H Show Ladies Auxiliary would like to thank sponsors and volunteers for the support given throughout
the year. If you would like to find out more about ways you can be involved with the Ladies Auxiliary in the Cobley Pavilion
please contact Margaret Hamilton on 02 63450427 or email debrutter@bigpond.com. They would like to wish everybody a happy and safe Christmas.

Asthma Apps for Kids Project: With one in ten Australian children having asthma, good management can control the disease
and prevent symptoms from occurring or worsening, and self-management programs for children with asthma have shown to be effective and Smartphone apps can assist in delivering these. The Asthma Apps for Kids project is trying to better understand how young children and their parents interact with asthma apps and the study is currently recruiting partipants aged six to eleven and their parent or carer based in NSW, Qld, Vis or SA to participate. A $50 Westfield gift voucher will be given to each family to acknowledge their valuable contribution to research. For more information, go to www.caretrackaustralia.org.au

The Canowindra Business Chamber would like to wish all Canowindra business owners and residents a safe and merry Christmas. 2016 seems to have passed with a flash. Significant moments include the collaboration of business owners and community
groups for the October Long Weekend/Charlie McCarron’s Auction and more recently the Canowindra Christmas Shopping Evening. We still have a couple more shopping days before Christmas so please consider a Canowindra gift for under the tree. For those business owners that get to have a break over the Christmas period, please enjoy and recharge. 2017 looks to bring more opportunities and challenges and we look forward to working with everyone in the new year. We invite non-members to consider joining the Chamber as it does provide a platform for business owners to network and work together. Merry Christmas.
