Grant Writing Workshop: Sick of unsuccessfully applying for grants on behalf of your sporting club or community group? Well, Phil Donato MP is hosting a free workshop on Wednesday 27th March from 6pm – 9pm at the Orange Ex-Services Club. The workshop will be delivered by professional grant writer “The Grants Guy” to help you achieve increased chances of success on your next grant application.
Positions are limited to organisations based in the Orange electorate, and a maximum of two representatives from each organisation can attend due to seating limitations. Calling All Farmers: All farming landholders are invited to attend a community meeting with the Canowindra International Balloon Challenge committee will be held on Friday 22nd March at 6.30pm at the Canowindra Services Club. Why Do We Have A Leap Year? Today is 29th February 2024, but do you know why we have the extra day this year? This calendar oddity occurs once every four years—and helps keep us in sync with the seasons. A calendar year is typically 365 days long. These so called “common years” loosely define the number of days it takes the Earth to complete one orbit around the Sun. But 365 is actually a rounded number. It takes Earth 365.242190 days to orbit the Sun, or 365 days 5 hours 48 minutes and 56 seconds. After four years, those leftover hours add up to a whole day. In a leap year, we add this extra day to the month of February, making it 29 days.
