It’s Snake Season: The arrival of warmer weather also means it is time to keep an eye out for snakes. If you see a snake remember to stand still, slowly move away if safe to do so. Keep calm, give the snake a chance to slither away. Leave the snake alone, do not try to catch it.
Support Our Superstar Athlete: There is still time to get a table together for the tiriva night being held at the Canowindra Services Club this Friday night to assist local athlete Emily Thomas to travel to Perth to compete in the All Schools National Championships in Hammer Throw. St John’s Wort And Livestock Nutrition Field Day: On Tuesday 28th November, Local Land Services will be holding a field day at the Grenfell Bowling Club in Cross Street, to look at the control of St John’s Wort and to hear about livestock nutrition. Topics will include:
• Biocontrol with Senior Research Scientist, Dr Andrew McConnachie, NSW DPI
• St John’s Wort herbicide control options with Tim Bartimote
• Understanding feed quality for livestock with Rohan Leach
• A field walk is also included to see the St John’s Wort herbicide demonstration.
