Southern Tablelands meet Central West at Montrose House: Last Tuesday 15th November, three ladies from Crookwell,
together with some locals, who have lived here at one stage, all met for a combined birthday celebration at Montrose House. All enjoyed the fabulous hospitality and sumptuous meal provided by Tommy Jeffs and look forward to returning to Canowindra again in 2017.

Give Now Week (28th November – 4th December): Recent research has shown that 61% of Australians donate to charity. Young people are some of the most frequent givers, with a third of those aged 25-29 donating every month and for every $1 donated to environmental causes, $3 is donated to animal and $7 to human causes. People are encouraged to focus their attention on the many ways they can make a difference, in the lead up to Christmas as charities rely heavily on donations at this time of the year.

Moorbel Markets are on again! Moorbel Markets will be held on Saturday 3rd December 2016 commencing at 8.00am until 12 noon at the Moorbel Hall. The first Moorbel Markets of 2017 will be in February. A great range of stalls are available which include a range of soap, garden art, gift items, collectable items, a wide variety of plants, vegetables, free range eggs, Doug’s gourmet potatoes, goat’s milk soap, medical socks, beautiful items with that personal touch, jewellery, handmade cards, jams, bric-a-brac and of course,
lovely homemade cooking. We look forward to seeing you there. Moorbel Hall Committee wishes everyone a happy and safe Christmas.

The Australian Red Cross Mobile Blood Service is visiting Canowindra at Morris Park on Monday 5th December from 9.15am to 3.15pm. If you haven’t already made an appointment to give blood, you can make an appointment online or call them on 13 14 95. Remember that only 1 in 3 Australians will need blood, but only 1 in 30 donate – this blood helps cancer patients, people with blood disorders, mothers-to-be and newborn babies, as well as trauma and surgical patients.

Blessing Bags – three local Mums need your help: A group of three local Mums have decided to put together Blessing Bags
for victims of domestic violence and other people in need in Canowindra and the surrounding district. The Blessing Bags contain
many goodies, including, but certainly not limited to; pampering items, drink bottle, personal hygiene items, puzzle/ game/colouring books and stationery items. They would love you to be a Blessing with them and sponsor a bag for $32. Please contact Beth 0400 850 968, Lisa 0458 525 738 or Kobie 0490 133 563 if you can help. Or you can drop off donations to the high school.

And She Said YES! Anton Kerr had a unique experience on Friday morning, with a Colombian doctor from Geelong in Victoria and his girlfriend, high above the fields of Canowindra, when she said yes to the doctors marriage proposal. The doctor, who had organised everything and booked an exclusive romantic balloon flight package, caught his bride-to-be totally unaware that she was about to receive a proposal. Whilst Anton said it was all said in Colombian, there were tears and hugs, he then turned to Anton and said, “She said Yes!” The doctor had gone down on one knee around 300 metres above the ground in the balloon basket to ask the question. A first for Anton high in the sky.

This week’s “TO DO” List: Treat your body, brain and the environment to a bit of love over the next seven days.
• Try Silent Training: Try some music with some high-intensity training.
• Eat This: Frozen grapes – with only 250 kjs in a cup these are guaranteed to be your go-to-summer snack.
• Start This: Plan work breaks. Take a 5 minute break after every 30 minutes on the job, the quality of your work will improve.
• Do This: Walk Briskly, If you are considering taking a walk, do it briskly!
