Canowindra Public School Chess teams recently competed in Orange, with one of the teams coming away with 4th place.
Canowindra Public School Chess Success: Canowindra Public School Students travelled to Orange on June 25th and 26th to compete in a regional primary school chess tournament.
Canowindra Public sent two teams of keen players to compete against 11 other schools from the region. Claire, Lachie, Tom and Bonny played some amazing games, resulting in them coming in 4th place out of 30 teams. The other team consisted of Kadee, Toby, Logan and Spencer who weren’t far behind and played some impressive games. Canowindra Public School showed a massive amount of gratitude to Mr Bates for organising the day and supporting the talented kids in their chess endeavours.

Makers Market Success: It was estimated that over 200 visitors attended the makers Market on Sunday, 23rd July. All the Makers were delighted with the event and the incredible community that came and supported them. The next Makers’ Market will be held on 21st September, the day after Sakura Matsuri at the Cowra Japanese Gardens. The final Market for 2023 will be held on the 2nd December. Pennie Scott expressed great appreciation to the Canowindra Community for the support of the first Makers Market.
Bulky Waste Clean-Up for Cabonne: The Cabonne bulky waste clean-up returns this August for Cabonne residents that currently have a regular bin service/waste collections service with Council. Place waste out between 5th and 6th August, and collection will commence Monday 7th August.
All waste must be separated into three separate piles, scrap metal and white goods, general bulky waste and bundled organics. All items should be placed neatly next to the edge of the kerb not blocking the footpath at your normal weekly collection point.
