Congratulations: To Mrs McLaughlan a teacher at Canowindra Public School on 30 years of service with the Department of Education. “This is a huge milestone, and we are very lucky to be able to work with someone with so much knowledge and experience. Donna is willing to continually learn and evolve in the ever-changing space of Education and consistently gets great results from her students. Thanks for all the years of dedication Mrs Mac, well done!” said Principal Mrs Sharon Hawker.
Symphony of the Winds: The next Palms Markets to be held on 16th September will have a Baroque Music Festival theme. Organisers are encouraging local children and their families or school class to create wind chimes out of unused objects, nature and recycled materials to bring along to the twilight market. The creations will be hung at The Palms, 33 Gaskill Street for the week of the Baroque Music Festival. Organisers are hoping to engage the children and families of Canowindra in a love for all kinds of music and get them excited about the Baroque Music Festival being held in the community!

Woodstock Show: There will be something for everyone at this year’s Woodstock Show to be held this Sunday 4th September. Audiences’ will be captivated by the action of the traditional woodchopping event, speed shearing, chainsaw racing, vintage tractor pulls, ring events, working heavy horses, cattle and sheep, wool, and pavilion exhibits. For the children there will be pony rides, Troppo Bob’s Magic Show and Dinkum Dinosaurs will entertain with prehistoric puppets. There will also be face painting, horse drawn carriage rides, sideshow alley and loads of free novelty events!

Woodbridge Cup Awards: The Canowindra Rugby League Football Club attended the annual Woodbridge Cup dinner in Canowindra last Friday night. Lewis Dwyer was awarded third in the Best and Fairest. Emma Bayley was awarded Players Player and Runner Up in the Tackle.
