Winner Winner! Well done to Jake Marshall who picked the Joker at The Royal Hotel on Friday night!

Royal Agricultural Society Foundation Rural Scholarship: Students in rural and regional NSW often have to relocate in order to study, leaving behind the support of family and friends and feeling torn between their education and their obligations at home. Fortunately, assistance in the form of a RAS Foundation Rural Scholarship can help ease some worries and allow greater freedom to more regularly visit home and lend a hand. Scholarships of up to $6,000 for full-time study or $3,000 for part-time study are available. To find out more and apply for a RASF Rural Scholarship visit www.rasnsw.com.au/foundation/scholarships/ras-rural-scholarships

New App: Don’t forget to download the new Canowindra Phoenix App for all your local news, sport, events and business listings right in your pocket.

Crafternoon: The Canowindra CWA will host a Crafternoon on Sunday 24th July at 1pm at the CWA Hall in Blatchford Street. Bring along your own craft project and share time with other crafty people and have some fun. A cuppa will also be available. If you don’t have a project, you can pick up some sewing and craft skills. The CWA always has some craft projects to work on. Gold coin donation only to cover the refreshments. You do not need to be a member to be part of this fun afternoon. Just head along, no need to register.

Lions Club Charity Raffle: Head into the Blue Bowerbird to purchase a ticket, $5 each or 3 for $10. 1st Prize is a night’s accommodation at Montrose House including dinner and breakfast for 2 people, 2nd Prize is a Feathers Wind Spinner from Blue Bowerbird and 3rd Prize is a gift basket donated by various Canowindra businesses. Raffle will be drawn late September 2022.

Contributions: If you have some exciting local news or photos about an engagement, wedding, stork news or sport to share with the community we would love to hear from you! Simply email editor@canowindraphoenix.com.au or call 6344 1846.

Save The Date: Monday 8th August for the next Friendship Morning Tea at the CWA Hall. Everyone is welcome so do invite your friends as it helps many people get out and about, even in the cold winter. The CWA put this on as a free event, though any donation towards the heating, cooking and general running of the hall is always appreciated.

The July CWA Friendship Morning Tea was a lovely catch up.
