Welcome Miss Ellis: Cargo Public School is excited to welcome the lovely Miss Ellis who has joined the primary class over the last ten days. Miss Ellis is completing the final year of her teaching degree and is on a 4-week placement with the school.
New 1800 Number for Women’s Health Service: The Western NSW Local Health District Women’s Health Service has a new 1800 number. You can reach the service by calling 1800 008 422 between Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm. The single number will make it easier for clients to get in contact with their local women’s health nurse, and to book appointments directly at their preferred location. A referral is not required.
Fire Safety Visits: Safety Visits are available to all residents in Cabonne. The visits involve NSW Fire and Rescue members checking smoke alarms, replacing existing batteries, communicating personalised fire safety information, and providing a fire escape plan. Everyone can benefit from a Safety Visit, however there are people within our communities that are statistically at higher risk of incidents occurring, including: Over 65’s, those who live alone, people with limited mobility, hearing impairments or vision impairments, residents who are supported by carers, family and friends and anyone with English as a second language. Canowindra Show: The Show Committee are behind the scenes working towards finally having a Show to take place in September on Friday 23rd, Saturday 24th and Sunday 25th (Show jumping events only on the Sunday). The Committee have a few areas that they are needing help with. They are requiring a passionate individual to steward the following sections: Horse Riding and Hack Section, Poultry Section and Crop Competition which takes place out of show dates. CWA Meeting: For the month of June only the Canowindra CWA will hold their meeting on Saturday 18th June at 2pm. The CWA always welcome new members.
Markets this Week: The Palms Twilight Markets will be held this Friday 17th June from 4-8pm. There will be art and craft, fresh local produce, mulled wine, live music and hot food.
