Special Award: Brentan Gunderson, son of Larissa and John Gunderson of Forresters Beach was recently awarded “The Police Commissioners Certificate of Appreaction” Award. Brentan and his friend Charlie rescued a woman caught in a strong rip off Forresters Beach on the Central Coast. The boys managed to get the woman on a board and back to the beach where an ambulance was called and she was taken to hospital. Brentan is a Year 9 student at Central Coast Grammar School and is the grandson of Ken and Jackie Bennett of Canowindra.
Local Forum: The CBPA will be holding the second forum of the year on Wednesday 18th May at 7pm at Canowindra Services Club. The focus of the event is to discuss the opportunities around Canowindra, namely the reintroduction of a progressive dinner for ‘Christmas in July’. The CBPA think this is a great way to assist in promoting hospitality in Canowindra, with all of the great produce on offer and compliments the Christmas shopping promotion perfectly. The forum is a session for all interested members of the hospitality community to attend and discuss how this can work to suit all members.
Markets are Back: The Palms Twilight Market’s are back for May and will be held on Friday 20th May from 4-8pm on Gaskill St. Head along for some food, live music, art, crafts and fun!
Service NSW: The Mobile Service NSW Centre will return to Canowindra on Thursday 19th May from 9am to 3pm at Memorial Park on Gaskill Street. The mobile service centre can help with drivers licence renewals, driver knowledge tests, working with children check applications, applying for birth, death and marriage certificates and much more.
Boer Goat Championships: Last weekend the National and State Boer Goat championships were held at Canowindra Showground. Joanne Hyde won Junior Champion Buck and Reserve Champion Buck and Reserve Kid Champion Buck. The judge was Dannie Strauss from South Africa, who enjoyed a balloon flight with his wife kindly donated by Balloon Joy Flights.
