PRACTICE DAY: Southern Cross Cutting Club held an open and newcomers practice on 12-13th February 2022 at the Canowindra Showground. Riders came from all around the Central West to test their horse’s skills at cutting a cow and holding it from the herd.
COMMUNITY MEETING: The Canowindra Challenge Incorporated Committee will be holding a Community Meeting on Monday 28th February at 6pm at Canowindra Services Club. ENVIRONMENTAL CHAMPIONS WANTED: Local Canowindra students are set to get a kick-start in becoming future environmental champions, with schools in Canowindra given the chance to share in $1million through the 2022 Woolworths Junior Landcare Grants. Woolworths will offer Canowindra schools and early learning centres, up to $1,000 each, to develop projects that focus on sustainable food production, improving waste management practices or enhancing native habitats. Applications for the 2022 Woolworths Junior Landcare Grants are open now and close on 18th March 2022. MASK UPDATE: From tomorrow Friday 25th February 2022, masks will only be required for certain high-risk settings, such as travel, hospitals, indoor music festivals and corrections facilities. Masks are still encouraged for indoor settings where you cannot maintain a safe distance from others and for customer-facing retail staff.
YEAR 6 LEADERS: St Edward’s Primary School in Canowindra presented the Year 6 students with their 2022 leaders badges at a recent school mass. School captains this year are Alex Rice and Eadie Brown.
