Meet The Candidates: Come along to a meet and greet and have an informal chat to the candidates of this year’s Council Elections. The event will be held this evening, Thursday, 2 December from 5:00pm to 6:30pm at the Canowindra Services Club.
Canowindra Phoenix Holiday Closure: The final edition of the Canowindra Phoenix for 2021 will be Thursday, 23 December. The office will re-open on Monday, 24 January 2022, with the first paper of the new year being released Thursday, 27 January 2022.
The Adult Survivors of Child Abuse: The Cowra Support Group meets on the first Friday of each month from 12:30 – 2:30pm and is open to survivors of all communities. NSW Voluntary Assisted Dying Bill Passes Lower House: On Friday 26th November the NSW Lower House passed the Voluntary Assisted Dying (VAD) Bill 2021 by 52 votes to 32. The next step for the Bill is that it now goes to the NSW Upper House for an inquiry. The inquiry committee will consider submissions over the end-of-year break and hold public hearings throughout December, before handing down its report early next year.
Don’t Forget to Vote: You must vote in the NSW Local Government Elections this Saturday, 4 December. Voting in Canowindra will take place at Canowindra High School, Browns Avenue, from 8.00am – 6.00pm. The polling venues for the Cabonne LGA can be found at www.elections.nsw.gov.au.
Dine & Discover Vouchers: The summer holidays just got better for NSW residents, with two additional $25 Dine & Discover vouchers rolling out for eligible customers this week. The vouchers will appear automatically in the Service NSW app, via SMS or email for existing digital customers. Current digital customers do not need to reapply to receive the extra vouchers. Customers who don’t have access to digital vouchers can opt into a new call and collect delivery method by calling NSW on 13 77 88 from 3rd December, nominate their nearest Service Centre and in three business days they can collect their paper vouchers.
