Treat Mum at the Old Vic: The Old Vic Inn will be hosting a three course lunch on Sunday, 9 March for Mother’s Day. Entrée options include spicy pumpkin soup, asparagus wraps or king prawn cocktail. Main includes oven roasted duck with orange sauce, Atlantic salmon with benedict sauce or panko crumbed pork loin. Dessert is a choice of chocolate lava pudding, cheesecake with berry sauce or homemade parfait. Cost is $45 a head and bookings are essential. Call 6344 1009 to book your place.
Colouring Competition Collection: Entries from the Canowindra Phoenix’s Easter colouring competition have now been taken down and can be collected from our Gaskill Street office in the next few weeks during office hours.
Welcome Tayce: The Canowindra Phoenix is delighted to welcome Tayce Gilbert in the role of advertising and sales. While we welcome Tayce, we are sad to have fare-welled Zoe Smith, who brought so much warmth and talent to the role in her time at the Phoenix. Thank you for all your hard work Zoe and we wish you the best in your future endeavours.

Charity Tractor Trek: The Central West Charity Tractor Trek Group (CWCTTG) will be hosting a charity raffle and trek this weekend in aid of Little Wings, which provides transport for sick regional kids and their families to major hospitals. Raffle tickets are on sale now at Central Motors or volunteers will be selling tickets outside Foodworks on Saturday morning from 8am to 1pm. First prize will be a trailer load of wood valued at $700 and second price will be a Yard Force 16” lawn mower. The raffle will be drawn at 2pm at the showground. Just after the raffle winners are announced, the group will begin a 24 hour tractor marathon. Drivers can be sponsored, with all funds going straight to Little Wings.
