$100 Vouchers for All: The NSW Government is launching Dine and Discover NSW to encourage the community to get out and about, supporting dining, arts and tourism businesses and stimulating spending in the economy. All NSW residents over the age of 18 will be entitled to $100 worth of vouchers (2 x $25 vouchers for dining, and 2 x $25 vouchers for going out). Free Movie Tickets in Cowra: The Cowra Shire Council has received $10,000 from the Festival of Place Summer Fund to offer 1,000 free cinema tickets to anyone who has spent money at local businesses three hours prior to the movie session. So far more than 600 tickets have been claimed, giving a boost to local businesses and enabling people to get out and enjoy everything Cowra has to offer.
Correction: Amendment to information about the Cargo to Grenfell walk published in the 4 March edition of the Canowindra Phoenix: This year the C2G fundraiser has a half marathon (21.5km) and full marathon (44.1km) on Saturday, 13 March. The full marathon starts at 7:30am from Gooloo-gong Hotel for walkers and 10:00am for runners. The half marathon starts at 1:00pm from Warrederry to Grenfell. The start point is 21.5 km out from Grenfell Country Club and will be marked by signage.

Canowindra SES is Recruiting: Canowindra State Emergency Service (SES) will be holding a recruiting and information evening Tuesday, 23 March at 6:30pm at the Canowindra Services Club. The evening will focus on the flood risks in and around Canowindra, the NSW SES and how locals can get involved and help the community through the SES.
With a wide range of activities, from making sandwiches to helping in disasters, SES Canowindra can use the help of anyone who wants to muck in. Training will commence in April. The NSW SES is a registered training organisation. Training is available to all members and may result in the award of nationally recognised qualifications, Units of Competency, accredited courses and skill sets.
