BreastScreen mobile van in Canowindra in March: BreastScreen NSW mobile van will be operating in CANOWINDRA from Thurday, 11 March and Friday, 19 March at the Canowindra Showground.
Why is breast screening important? Breast cancer is most the commonly diagnosed cancer in women in NSW with 1 in 7 women in NSW will be diagnosed with breast cancer by age 85. The strongest risk factors for breast cancer are age and gender with older females being most likely affected. 9 out of 10 women diagnosed with breast cancer do not have a family history.
BreastScreen recommends a mammogram every two years. A mammogram can pick up cancers that cannot be seen or felt, only takes just 20 minutes and could save your life.
To prioritise the wellbeing of women, staff and the community, BreastScreen NSW is taking important measures to limit the transmission of COVID-19 (Coronavirus), you can read more here: www.breast-screen.nsw.gov.au/news/important-pre-screening-information/
