Bill Flannery, Monique Sartor, Dan Flannery, Jessica Flannery (nee Lee), Bella Sartor, Will Sartor and Frank Sartor celebrate the marriage of Dan and Jessica Flannery.

Wedding Bells: After getting engaged in December 2019, Daniel Flannery and Jessica Lee were married on Saturday 28th November 2020. With COVID-19 in mind, they decided to have a small but sweet ceremony along the foreshore of Kirribilli with only close family and friends in attendance. An intimate lunch followed at Cafe Sydney with family. Jessica wore a gorgeous dress by Jennifer Regan and Dan wore a dapper Calvin Klein suit. Dan is the son of Bill and the late Kate Flannery from Canowindra.

Tennis Competition Returns: Doubles tennis competition to re-start Thursday 4th February at 6pm running for 8 weeks at a cost of $50 per player. Family members are now permitted to attend and all players to sign in each week and adhere to our requirements outlined in our COVIDSafe plan. Please contact Kylie Pull on 0427 618 340 to register your team by Wednesday 27th January 2021.

HSC Success: Canowindra High School was commended as one of 28 Western NSW public schools where students earned a top band to make them a Distinguished Achiever in the 2020 HSC. Well done, Canowindra High!

Men’s Shed News: The Men’s Shed hosted a Christmas party last year with 14 members and their partners attending for chicken and salad followed by cheesecake and ice-cream. Fun was had by all! The Canowindra Men’s Shed meets on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at the Old Scout Hall, Tilga Street, Canowindra. Phone (02) 6344 2401. The Men’s Shed is a great way for newcomers to get to know the Canowindra community. All men welcome!

Congratulations Cabonne Christmas Light Competition Winner: 30 Ferguson Street, Canowindra won best decorated home in Cabonne’s annual Christmas light competition, receiving a $100 local gift card to spend in Cabonne. Congratulations!

Santa Comes To Canowindra: Last year Santa’s reindeers went on strike due to COVID-19, so Captain Barnacle’s Harley and sidecar were called in to take Santa to the Canowindra Services Club for their annual Christmas celebrations. The kids thought it was great with entertainment provided by Pooka Entertainment and presents for all.

Santa (a friend of Bruce Wright’s) with Captain Barnacles (Russell Hodge) on their way to the Canowindra Services Club.
