A Note From Roie: The end of 2020 and our final edition for the year also brings with it the beginning of my maternity leave and the start of my new chapter. I would like to thank the great team we have here at the Phoenix and all of our wonderful advertisers that make my job so enjoyable. I leave my position in the very capable hands of Zoe Smith while I put up my feet (clean and bake) and wait for the arrival of our first baby in February. Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year and looking forward to seeing you all again on my return. – Roselea Rowston, General Manager
Mind Your Mental Health: The festive season can often trigger feelings of loneliness, isolation and / or grief. Rural Adversity Mental Health Program (RAMHP) Coordinator Di Gill said, “2020 has been an unprecedented year in terms of financial stressors, relationship challenges, isolation, grief and high levels of uncertainty involved. If you know someone in your neighbourhood who may have been doing it tough, now is the time to reach out and check that they’re okay. We can all do our bit to be caring, supportive listeners and good neighbours.”
