Time is running out to apply for grants: Community groups in Cabonne have only
until the end of this week to apply for Council grants to improve the liveability of their areas. Applications for Community Assistance Program grants, which are designed to provide an ongoing or sustainable benefit to Cabonne communities, will close at 5pm on Friday 19 August 2016. NSW Small Winemakers Wine Show: The 25th anniversary of the NSW Small Winemakers Wine Show in Forbes will take place from 22nd to 24th August at the Forbes Youth and Community Centre. A total of 559 entries have been received. Mike de Luliis, owner and winemaker at de Luliis Wines in the Hunter Valley, continues as the Chairman of Judges. A public tasting will be held on Friday, 26th August from 6.30 to 8.30pm. Tickets are $25 and include tasting of the wines entered and finger food.
Mobile Blood Bank coming to Canowindra: The Australian Red Cross Mobile Blood Bank will be in Canowindra on Monday September 5, at Morris Park on Rodd Street. It will be open from 9.10am until 3.30pm. The Australian Red Cross is encouraging as much of the town as possible to roll their sleeves up and donate blood. Those doing so should have a good sized breakfast that morning, drink three to four glasses of water or juice beforehand, and must have photo ID with them. The Australian Red Cross Blood Service needs to collect over 25,000 blood donations every week to help Australians in need.
