Lucy Carpenter won the Christmas in July Children’s Colouring In Competition for 10 years + category.

Colouring In Competition Winners: The children’s colouring in competition was drawn last week, thanks to everyone for entering. The winners for 2020 are: Up to 6 years category Levi Thompson and Runner Up Lexi Horton, 7-9 years winner was Jessica Townsend and Runner Up Harvey Gordon, in the 10 years + category Lucy Carpenter won and Sophie Smyth was the runner up. Each child will receive a shop local voucher to the store of their choice in Canowindra.

Breakfast Club: Each Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday morning at 8.30am, Canowindra Public School offers a Breakfast Club to those students in need. Donations of butter, sliced cheese, long life milk and long life juices would be greatly appreciated.

Lake Rowlands Spills: Following the rain event last week, Lake Rowlands the town water supply source for Central Tablelands Water (CTW) is now spilling. The rapid rate of which Lake Rowlands has filled is incredible. With the catchment now saturated and all the tributaries flowing, the Lake increased from 32.5% in late April to topping by the end of July. During July the dam increased by over 40%, with a 20% increase occurring over a 30 hour period. Water restrictions were eased on Monday 3rd August to level 1.

Feedback: Is sought from interested persons who are involved with the Cowra Regional Livestock Selling Centre as Cowra Council discuss the opportunity for prime lamb and sheep sales to change days. Currently, prime lamb and sheep sales are held every Friday from 10am with the possibility of changing this day to Wednesday. Public comment is now open and will close on Friday 7th August at 4pm, contact Cowra Council – Manager for Cowra Services, Chris Cannard Phone 6340 2088 or email ccannard@cowra.nsw.gov.au
