Year 6 Students from St Edward’s Primary School drawing the raffle with Tommy Jeffs at Montrose House.

Christmas in July Raffle: Tommy Jeffs recently donated a Christmas in July Dinner for 4 people to be raffled off by the St Edward’s Primary School P&F. The winner was kindergarten student Sharlie Selwood and the P&F raised $1,065. Thanks Tommy!

Canowindra Business Chamber and Progress Association Update: Once again there was a good roll up at the recent business and progress association meeting. The main street layout and historic nature is considered to be one of the main assets therefore it is important that the association carefully consider any potential works. There was a lot of discussion around the cost of repairs and grants to ensure the basic feel is maintained of the main street. With the recent passing of his wife, Arthur Falconer has found it difficult to fulfil his chair duties and has stepped down and Antonio D’Onise was unanimously elected to take the role of Chair pending an AGM in October.

Retirement Milestone: After 47 years as the bar manager at The Gooloogong Country Club Michael Beath is retiring. All the best in your retirement Michael!

Cudal Show Update: Unfortunately due to the current situation with COVID-19 and current restrictions on gatherings the 2020 annual Cudal Show has been cancelled. Due to health restrictions and the safety of volunteers, visitors and competitors the show committee cannot risk the gathering of this many people together. The committee are hoping to put a bigger and better show on in 2021 when hopefully things will be back to more normal circumstances.

Central Tablelands Water Notices: CTW would like to advise its consumers that Water Reminder/Final Notices will not be issued for the June 2020 quarter as actual meter reads have commenced for the September 2020 quarter with accounts due to be issued on 7th August 2020. The interest rate has been set at 0.0% for the first half of the 2020-21 financial year in response to the financial impacts faced by the community as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. Please contact the CTW Office on 02 6391 7200 or email water@ctw.nsw.gov.au with any account enquiries.

New Shade: After a freak storm late last year the shade cover at the Canowindra Tennis Courts was damaged. Last week a great new shade was installed ready for the tennis club to use in the coming months.

The new shade at Canowindra Tennis Courts looks great.
