Canowindra Pony Club Swap Meet:
The Canowindra Pony Club is gearing up for its annual fundraiser, its ever-popular Swap Meet. The Swap Meet keeps getting bigger and better every year and this year it will be held on Sunday 7th August at the Canowindra Showground. Anyone can have a stall and you can sell pretty much anything, from kids toys and kitchen utensils, to cars and furniture. If you come along you are sure to find something that takes your eye, or that piece you’ve always been looking for. Stall sites are $10, undercover sites are available and site holders can set up from Friday at 4pm. Entry on the Sunday is just $2 and gates open at 5.30am. Canowindra Pythons Junior Rugby Gala Day: The Canowindra Pythons will host its Junior Rugby Gala Day from 9am on Sunday, August 7, at the Canowindra Sports Complex (access via Tilga and Ross Streets). A massive day of activities is planned, with the Lions Club jumping castle, a monster raffle, and canteen happening on the day. The Pythons will also be hosting the Central West Rugby Union Walla Rugby teams in game-play on the day. The raffle will include heaps of prizes, including a signed ACT Brumbies jersey! Make sure you get down to it for a fun-filled day to support your local rugby union club.
Canowindra Phoenix nominated for Business Awards: The Canowindra Phoenix has been nominated in a number of categories for the 2016 Cabonne Daroo Business Awards. The newspaper has been nominated in the categories of Best Ongoing Business; Excellence in Marketing, Advertising and Communications; Contribution to Cabonne by a Business; Excellence in Service Operations by a Small Entity; and Best Business in Cabonne. The Awards aim to raise the profile of Cabonne-based businesses that demonstrate a commitment to excellence in areas of service and management. The event’s gala dinner will be held in Cumnock on Friday, November 4.
