It’s No Time to Be Complacent: The Western NSW Local Health District (WNSWLHD) has urged local residents to come forward for COVID-19 testing, even if the symptoms they have experienced are mild. “This is a really critical time for people like us who are living in western NSW,” said WNSWLHD Chief Executive Scott McLachlan. “It’s very likely that there are some people in our community who have COVID-19 but have symptoms that are mild enough that they haven’t really noticed or been too concerned about it. We need those people to be tested so we can support them, reduce the potential for COVID-19 spreading, and to better understand just how prevalent the disease is,” concluded Scott.

Canowindra Food Basket: In conjunction with the Uniting Church, Foodbasket are a volunteer run provider of food and household supplies for low income families and pensioners of Canowindra and surrounding areas. A Healthcare or Pension Card is required. Foodbasket is open Fridays 9.30am-12noon for drive through pick up service at Blatchford St Canowindra, behind the Uniting Church. Foodbasket also offer home deliveries within 10km of town on Friday afternoons. Pre-orders are welcome! Make sure you keep an eye on the Facebook page – Canowindra Food Basket every Wednesday for details of the weekly specials. Any questions please contact Lyn on 0409 867 002 or email canowindrafoodbasket@outlook.com

International Nurses Day: Health services around NSW came together on Tuesday 12th May to honour the work of nurses. Everyone should be incredibly proud of nurses across Western New South Wales Local Health District who have proven their tenacity and resilience especially through this COVID pandemic. There are more than 50,000 Nurses and Midwives in NSW Health’s hospitals and services and they provide safe, quality care for the people of NSW. They are the ‘Healing Hearts’ of the NSW Health service.

Contributions Welcome: With the current COVID-19 pandemic we would love to hear from you!
