It’s your chance to have a say: The Western NSW Local Heath District (WN- SWLHD) is calling for people who have an interest in health to join its register of health consumer representatives. The register will provide the WNSWLHD with a pool of people interested to be on an organisational committee or to simply provide comment to matters such as service plans, policy documents, publications, quality and safety programs. SES Volunteers Needed: After the deluge of rain that fell in parts of Canowindra last week causing localised flash flooding the SES Canowindra Unit are looking for more volunteers. AGM Reminders: St Edward’s P&F will hold their AGM on Wednesday, 18th March at 7pm in the School Library, all positions will be made vacant. The Canowindra PA & H Association will hold their AGM on Tuesday, 10th March at 6.30pm at Canowindra Bowling Club, all are welcome to attend.
University Students encouraged to claim early: Students planning to start university in 2020 are being encouraged to lodge their claim for Youth Allowance or Austudy now to beat the queue. Youth Allowance provides financial assistance for eligible young people who pursue further study or an apprenticeship after leaving school. Austudy provides assistance to eligible students and apprentices aged 25 or older. Eligibility for additional support will also be assessed. For example, students who move away from home to study may get the increased away from home rate of Youth Allowance.
