Canowindra Tigers League Tag coach Mick Vitnell will bring loads of enthusiasm and experience for 2020 pictured with Team Manager Tanisha Whatman.

Save the Date: For the Canowindra Tigers Centenary Celebration Weekend to be held on 8th, 9th and 10th May 2020. A big weekend is planned with football matches and official celebrations at Canowindra Services Club, more details to come shortly.

It’s your chance to have a say: The Western NSW Local Heath District (WN- SWLHD) is calling for people who have an interest in health to join its register of health consumer representatives. The register will provide the WNSWLHD with a pool of people interested to be on an organisational committee or to simply provide comment to matters such as service plans, policy documents, publications, quality and safety programs. For more information people can email WNSWLHD-Volunteers@health.nsw.gov.au for an information and registration pack or contact Illona Dunn on 6378 6274.

SES Volunteers Needed: After the deluge of rain that fell in parts of Canowindra last week causing localised flash flooding the SES Canowindra Unit are looking for more volunteers. If you are interested please visit www.ses.gov.au and click on volunteering to find out more. If you need help in an emergency flood or storm situation call the SES on 132 500.

Contributions: Email your Be Seen pho- tos, Stork News, Way Back When photos and story, Engagement News, Wedding Bells, Letter to the Editor or any other exciting story ideas to editor@canowindraphoenix.com.au to feature in The Phoenix or phone us on 6344 1846.

AGM Reminders: St Edward’s P&F will hold their AGM on Wednesday, 18th March at 7pm in the School Library, all positions will be made vacant. The Canowindra PA & H Association will hold their AGM on Tuesday, 10th March at 6.30pm at Canowindra Bowling Club, all are welcome to attend.

University Students encouraged to claim early: Students planning to start university in 2020 are being encouraged to lodge their claim for Youth Allowance or Austudy now to beat the queue. Youth Allowance provides financial assistance for eligible young people who pursue further study or an apprenticeship after leaving school. Austudy provides assistance to eligible students and apprentices aged 25 or older. Eligibility for additional support will also be assessed. For example, students who move away from home to study may get the increased away from home rate of Youth Allowance.
