Canowindra Rugby League Football Club Committee Members for 2020.

Canowindra Tigers AGM Results: The Canowindra Rugby League Football Club held their annual general meeting recently with the new committee as follows: President – Andrew Whatman, Secretary – Narelle Hughes, Treasurer – Wayne Hughes, Senior Vice President – Barry Traves, Junior Vice President – Paul Earsman. 2020 will be a very exciting year for the Tigers as they celebrate 100 years.

Bust the Dust: This Friday 13th December, students and staff at Canowindra Public School and St Edward’s Primary School Canowindra are aiming to dance up a drought-ending storm. Both schools have joined in the ‘Bust The Dust’ campaign, which was initiated by school students in Trangie, NSW. The Trangie students have encouraged schools across the nation to join together to raise spirits and awareness of the drought by joining in a simultaneous rain dance.

Scholarship Applications Now Open: Students of Canowindra’s Primary and High Schools are invited to apply for the 2020 Canowindra CWA Music and Voice Scholarship. The scholarship is open to any student attending school in Canowindra, with the successful applicant receiving $700 towards their music or voice tuition or equipment. Application forms are available from the school offices or from the Canowindra Pharmacy.

Excellent Result: 184 Gaskill St was sold at auction by Canowindra Real Estate last Friday, congratulations to the winning bidder.

Christmas Closures: The Canowindra Phoenix’s last issue for 2019 will be Thursday 19th December. The office at 84 Gaskill St will be closed from Friday 20th December 2019 and will reopen on Monday 20th January 2020 with the first issue for 2020 to be released on Thursday 23rd January 2020. The Phoenix would like to wish all our readers, advertisers and contributors a safe and happy Christmas!

Light Up Cabonne: Have you registered your home or business in the Light Up Cabonne Competition yet? It is simple to enter just call 6392 3200 or email council@cabonne.nsw.gov.au by 5pm on Friday 13th December to register. Judging will take place during the week of 16th December and the winner will be announced on Christmas Eve.
