Georgia Grenfell and Roz King at Orange Rodeo.

Congratulations to the winners of our Orange Rodeo competition: Georgia Grenfell, Rachel Pace, Drew Hogan and Elsey Watson who each won either a double pass or family pass to the Orange Rodeo last Saturday.

Australian National Field Day Competition: Be sure to enter our latest giveaway for your chance to win tickets to the Australian National Field Days on 24th – 26th October at Borenore.

Drought Support Service: As the drought continues across the Western NSW Local Health District (WNSWLHD), the importance of our farmers remaining healthy is vital. For the first time the WNSWLHD has a Drought Support Team, that consists of everyday people with lived experience of life on the land. Hub Manager Mental Health Drug and Alcohol, Trish Bullen said, “This is a new model of care for our District and provides our communities an alternative option instead of speaking to a clinician”. To access the Drought Support Team service call (02) 6881 4002. The service runs Monday to Friday 8.30am – 5.00pm, outside of these hours anyone with concerns about their mental health or that of a friend or loved one should call the Mental Health Line on free call 1800 011 511 or contact their GP.

Canowindra CWA Music and Voice Scholarship 2020: Students of Canowindra’s primary and high schools are invited to apply for the 2020 Canowindra CWA Music and Voice Scholarship. The scholarship is open to any student attending school in Canowindra, with the successful applicant receiving $700 towards their music or voice tuition or equipment. Application forms are available from the High School front foyer or from the Canowindra Pharmacy.

Canowindra High School Farewells Year 12 Students: On the last Thursday of Term 3, Canowindra High School farewelled its Year 12 class of 2019. After enjoying a fun filled week of activities including lunchtime slide hockey, volley ball, indoor soccer and dodge ball games against the staff, themed dress up days and a BBQ breakfast with staff, students then attended the final assembly where they were presented with their graduation folders. The school would like to give a special thanks to Ms Gregson for the time and effort she spent organising these activities and her ongoing support as Year Adviser. On behalf of all staff and fellow students, CHS wishes them well in their HSC exams starting today, and all future endeavours.
