Sunday Serenade: Was well attended at All Saints Anglican Church last Sunday with over 100 guests. The year’s scholarship recipient was Hayley Stephens, who has used the Scholarship money to extend piano lessons, enter the Cowra Eisteddfod and attend speech lessons. Hayley is very appreciative of the scholarship and said “I would like to encourage others to apply.”
A special treat was the Cantor Group from St Stanislaus College who sang Will You Love Me and The Great Southland.
The CWA Community choir performed two songs. The audience were also entertained by a wide verity of performances on piano, cello, guitar, vocals, poetry and speech.
The Beanshed Drama Group presented The King and the Shirt and there was also a guest appearance by Pam and Robert Byrnes. The CWA would like to thank the Canowindra community for again supporting this event which enables them to assist local students further their love of music and voice. A special thank you to Judy Houghton CWA of NSW State Vice President who is next year’s independent judge.
Application for 2020 scholarship are now open and available from the three Canowindra schools, Canowindra Pharmacy or the CWA. Applications close on 1st November 2019.

NRL Footy Tipping Winner: Congratulations to Pete Buttigieg who has won the Footy Tipping competition for 2019 beating Nick Daly by 4 points, third place went to Toby Newcombe. Thanks to everyone for taking part and we look forward to having you back in 2020!
