Stork News: Former Canowindra local, Jason Gilroy and wife Renee from Marulan are rejoicing the birth of their second child a boy, Harrison John Masters-Gilroy born on 19th August 2019 weighing 7lb 1oz. Harrison is a brother for Adelyn aged 2. Grandparents are Peter and Bernadette Masters from Greenwell Point, Heather Gilroy from Victoria and Peter Gilroy from Canowindra. Harrison is a great grandchild for Fay Gilroy from Canowindra, 17th for Nancy Morrow from Canowindra and John and Jennifer McLean from Victoria.
Canowindra Garden Club: Recently held their AGM with the following results… President Carolyn Wythes, Vice President Mary Finn, Secretary Dierdre Keady, Treasurer Joan Brenninger, Publicity Narelle Hughes, Programme Organisers Nola Meggitt and Linda Guthrie and Public Officer Cheryl Wythes. A big thank you to Jenny Laing who stepped down as Treasurer. The next meeting is at Mark and Anne Ward’s garden, “Gayton” 60 Boridgery Lane, Canowindra on Wednesday 18th September at 2pm.

Sunday Serenade: Head along to All Saints Anglican Church on Sunday 8th September at 2pm for the annual Sunday Serenade featuring performances from St Stanislaus Cantor Group, Canowindra Beanshed Drama Group, the CWA and Friends Community Choir and Hayley Stephens the 2019 Scholarship recipient. Tickets are $5 at the door and includes afternoon tea. The concert will help raise funds for the Canowindra CWA Music and Speech Scholarship which will be launched on the day.

Daffodil Day: Thanks must go to the people of Canowindra for once again supporting Daffodil Day last Friday. Over $1,500 was raised with the sale of fresh daffodils, badges, bears and pens outside Lawrence’s IGA in Gaskill St. A huge thanks to Canowindra High School for donating $70.
