John Newman celebrated his 90th Birthday with morning tea with the Cardiac/Pulmonary Group at Canowindra Hospital on Thursday 4th July.
Canowindra Hospital Auxiliary AGM: Will be held on Monday 15th July, 2019 at the Conference Room of the Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital, commencing at 2pm, all welcome. Following the AGM there will be a presentation to the hospital, with guest Col Chick representing the former Belubula Band, who generously donated to the purchase of a VIEW Machine for the hospital, this machine allows Doctors and staff to
access veins in patients more successfully.
Gaskill St Service Station: The DA and plans are now available to view for all local Canowindra residents at the HACC Office in Gaskill St, an extension has been granted and any concerns or comments now need to be made by Monday 15th July 2019 to Cabonne Council.
2nd Active Kids Voucher Now Available: The NSW Government has announced that you can now apply for a second $100 Active Kids Voucher (valid until 31st December 2019) to further contribute to sport and active recreation costs with an approved provider. Join the War on Waste: The Canowindra CWA Branch will hold another Boomerang Bag Workshop on Monday 15 July from 10am at the CWA Hall in Blatchford St. All are welcome to join and have some fun!
Christmas in July: It is that time of the year again where the Phoenix hosts the annual Christmas in July Window Display Competition! All businesses are encouraged to dazzle us with their Christmas themed windows to be in the running to win a great prize! Dr Downes Recognised in Parliament: Last week Phil Donato, MP for Orange presented Dr Ellen Downes from Canowindra a certificate on which is printed the Hansard record of the Community Recognition Statement Mr Donato delivered in NSW Parliament on May 28th 2019. Ellen is a supreme multitasker – a farmer, mother of three and a practicing Rehabilitation Specialist in Orange. Most recently Ellen was a finalist in the NSW/ACT AgriFutures Rural Women’s Awards. Ellen is an outstanding role model to rural women and farming families.
