Andrew Gee Visits Canowindra: Andrew Gee was spotted walking up and down Gaskill Street on a wet and cold Friday last week. Mr Gee, Federal Member for Calare, chatted to locals and paid a visit to Charlie McCarrons Canowindra Motors, where the pair talked about Charlie’s upcoming auction.

Festive Shop Fronts: Tomorrow is the first day of July and the beginning of the 2016 Christmas in July campaign! If you’re a shop owner, now is the time to start thinking of inspiration to make sure your window stands out from the rest and get decorating! Baubles, tinsel, fairy lights or even snow, the possibilities to create a Christmas landscape in your shop front are endless. So let’s get our town looking Christmassy, and you could be in with a chance to win a one night stay for two people at Fairmont Resort in the Blue Mountains!

Friendly Reminder: Police would like to remind and encourage the residents of Canowindra to please report all incidents to the police. This includes anything suspicious in and around their neighbourhood. If you have been a victim of a crime, please report the matter to police by calling your local unit. Please call 6344 1300, the Police Assistance Line on 131444, Crimestoppers on 1800 333 000 or if it is an emergency please call triple zero.

Make Your Vote Count: This Saturday is election day so be sure to make your voice heard by voting. You will be given a green ballot paper for the House of Representatives and a white one for the Senate. The green paper is your vote for someone to represent you locally while the white is for someone to represent your State. For more information go to www.aec.gov.au

Moorbel Markets: The markets will be held on Saturday 2nd July commencing at 8am until 12 noon at Moorbel Hall. A great range of stalls are available which include garden art, gift items, collectable items, a wide variety of plants, vegetables, free range eggs, Doug’s gourmet potatoes, goat’s milk soap, medical socks, beautiful items with that personal touch, jewellery, handmade cards, jams, bric-a-brac and of course, lovely homemade cooking. The Moorbel ladies will be at the Moorbel table so call in and say ‘hello’. There will also be a barbecue with sausage or rissole sandwiches and a cuppa with scones available to purchase at a minimal price. We look forward to seeing you there.
