Mother’s Day Fashion Parade: Jackie Yeo, Michelle Porter, Eleena Markcrow, Tommy Jeffs and Catherine O’Brien enjoying Mother’s Day at Finns Store.

Walk Safely to School Day: Is on this Friday 17th May. Walk Safely to School Day is an annual, national event when all primary school children are encouraged to walk and commute safely to school. It is a community event seeking to promote road safety, health, public transport and the environment.
Canowindra Public School students are asked to meet at the corner of Tilga and Charlottes Street’s at 8.30am on Friday 17th May 2019 to ‘Walk Safely to
School’.

Remembering the Fallen: On Saturday 25 May 2019, Cowra Council with the assistance of Local Land Services and Cowra RSL will host a ceremony and the planting of a grove of trees honouring the local men and women who served and fell during WW1. The commemoration will commence at 9.00am on Evans Street where descendants of the fallen men and women, and those who wish to honour the sacrifice made by them, may take part in planting a
tree for each fallen service personnel. Of the 560 men and women who served in the First World War, 77 did not return and a tree will be planted in honour of each of these service men and women. The tree planting will be followed by a Mayoral reception and morning tea at 10.30am to be held at Cowra Council. For more information, please contact Kate Alberry or Cassandra Gailey on 6340 2040.
