Youth Innovation Grants Now Open: Applications are now open for the FRRR ABC Heywire Youth Innovation Grants. Community organisations are invited to apply for a share in $100,000 in grants, to bring one of seven youth-developed ideas to life. The inspiring ideas were created at this year’s Heywire Regional Youth Summit and can be adapted to suit the needs of your community. Grants of up to $10,000 are available. Applications close May 14. Free Pet Microchipping: Cabonne residents will be able to take advantage of free dog and cat microchipping offered by Cabonne Council. The service will be provided on Wednesday 22 May at the council’s Canowindra depot in Armstrong Street from 10am to 1pm. Owners will not be limited to the number of dogs or cats they can have microchipped, but must book a time slot for each animal. A limited number of free dog or cat annual vaccination vouchers are
available for Cabonne residents only and can be obtained by contacting the council’s Environmental Services Department on 6392 3247. The vouchers are limited to one per household and can be redeemed at the Canowindra veterinary clinic. Vouchers must be used before Friday 28 June 2019.
Markets Are Back: The Make It, Bake It, Grow It Markets hosted by the Canowindra Creative Centre Inc will be held on Friday 26th and Saturday 27th April at the Canowindra Services Club Auditorium from 9am to 3pm. There will be excellent local and regional products on offer including cushions, cards, bags, up-cycled items, art, mosaic, plants, books, candles, blacksmith items, wooden toys and creative baby gifts.
WOW: Harper and Sonni Watson were so excited to grow this mega zucchini at home in their vegie patch. It was hidden under some grass and other vegies growing so they didn’t realise it was there! It came to just under 4kgs when weighed.
