Stork News: Sally and Josh White of Orange now have a Pidgeon pair! They are rejoicing after the birth of a son Hugo George White, born at Orange Hospital on 3rd April 2019 weighing 7lb 14oz. Hugo is a brother for Macy Grace, 15 months old. Proud grandparents are Rodney McLean of Canowindra, Therese Peters of Orange and Tanya and Kelvin White of Orange. Proud great grandparents are John and Jenn McLean of Katunga, Victoria, Andre and George White of Orange and Valerie Jones of Tamworth. Hugo is the 16th great grandchild for Nancy Morrow of Canowindra.

Get writing these school holidays: Entries in the 2019 Banjo Paterson Writing Awards are open until Friday 26 April. There are three categories: Short Story, Contemporary Poetry and ABC Central West Radio Children’s Writing Awards. There are generous cash prizes to be won – $2,000 for the Contemporary Poetry winner and $2,000 for the Short Story winner and $200 for the Children’s winner. Download entry forms from the Central West Libraries website www.cwl.nsw.gov.au. Fee $15 per adult entry, $5 per children’s entry. Entries close Friday 26 April, 2019. Good Luck!

Double Demerit Points: We remind motorists in NSW double demerits will be in place for eight days during this month’s Easter and ANZAC Day holiday period. Double demerits will start on Thursday 18 April and run to Monday 22 April 2019. Then there will be a one day break before they start again on Wednesday 24 April and run through to Sunday 28 April (inclusive). The double demerit points period applies from midnight of the start date to midnight on the finish date. Double demerit points apply for speeding, seatbelt, motorcycle helmet and mobile phone offences during all holiday periods.
