New Garden: The CWA Hall garden in Blatchford St is getting a makeover! There will be new recycled plastic chairs and tables purchased, recycled plastic screens erected to cover the gas bottles, an engraved paver path and a native garden. All past and present members are encouraged to purchase an engraved paver for $25, to order call Fran French on 0427 788 296. Works will start ASAP with local gardener Kurt Thomas.
Information Session: ‘Frailty and Falls’ information session will be held at Orana House in Canowindra on Monday 15th April 2019 at 2pm. Presenters are Ash Wright Physiotherapist and Bec Peters Dietitian. All from the community are welcome.
Plant Sale: Eureka Plants will once again hold their Rose Sale on Easter Saturday 20th April from 8am till 2pm. Check Your Smoke Alarm: Now that Daylight Saving has ended you must check that your smoke alarm is fully operational. Canowindra Station Commander Bill Paul said “This weekend is a good opportunity to ensure smoke alarms are working and replace those that are 10 years or older.”
New P&C Committee: The Canowindra High School P&C held their AGM last week with a new committee for 2019. President – Bronwin Lay, Vice President – Alison Stephens, Secretary – Louise Wakeling and Treasurer – Jeff Gavin.
New Hours at IGA: Lawrences IGA in Gaskill St have new trading hours. Lawrence’s IGA are now opening Monday to Friday from 7am – 7pm and Saturday and Sunday from 8am – 6pm.

Save the Date: Canowindra Tigers will celebrate its Centenary on the 8th-10th May 2020. The first game of league was played in Canowindra on the 8th May 1920. At this stage a First Grade Woodbridge Cup fixture will be played on Friday Night in Canowindra with post-match presentations at the Royal Hotel, Social Bowls at the club mid-morning on Saturday followed by a function at the Canowindra Services Club that night. On Sunday the Youth and Ladies League Tag will play their games in Canowindra.
