Congratulations: To Angus Clark a student from Canowindra High School who has been selected as a Finalist in the ‘Young Archie Central West’ competition, currently on display at the Orange Regional Gallery. This competition is part of the Archibald Prize 2018 Regional Tour, Angus’s entry is an acrylic paints portrait of his Grandfather. Well done and congratulations again on this wonderful achievement!

Moorbel Markets are on again: To be held this coming Saturday 2nd March 2019 commencing at 8.00am until 12 noon at the Moorbel Hall. Items on offer include handmade knitted toys, candles, gift items, collectables, plants, soap, jewellery, jams, bric-a-brac and of course, lovely homemade cooking. A barbeque will provide sausage or rissole sandwiches and a cuppa with scones. Make sure you visit the ladies on the Moorbel Hall Table where all sales go towards the upkeep of the Hall. For further details contact Warwick on 6344 2025.

Breakfast Club at Canowindra Public School: Is held every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday morning between 8.15am and 8.50am in the canteen area. All students are welcome to attend. Donations of breakfast items are always greatly appreciated.

Active Kids Vouchers Doubled: The hugely popular Active Kids program will double with the NSW Government announcing two separate $100 vouchers will be available for each child to encourage them to become involved in sport across the entire year. Premier Gladys Berejiklian said from July 2019 families will be able to access two Active Kids vouchers with the twin aims of encouraging children to play sport from January to December and to further ease the cost of living for NSW families. “The program has been hugely popular with more than 1 million vouchers issued since launching,” Ms Berejiklian said. “This is all about making sports more accessible for more children across the State and by making it affordable for parents, we are doing
our part to help make kids active and healthy.”

A Day For Ellie: Is on this Saturday 2nd March at Canowindra Golf Club from 8am. There will be golf, games, auctions, raffles and prizes! Come on down any time and join in on the fundraising festivities. If you can’t make it on the day or want to help out more – be sure to head over to the online auction page on Facebook – Ellie’s Online Auction and bid on some amazing items with all profits going to the beautiful Wild family.
