Pink Ribbon Morning Tea: Last Thursday the Phoenix girls and Tommy Jeffs hosted the annual Pink Ribbon Morning Tea at Montrose House. Thank you to everyone who came along and donated to this generous cause. We raised a total of $754 for women’s cancer research. Thank you to all the local businesses who generously donated items for the raffle. Raffle winners were Barb Jeffery, Michelle Fisher, Heather Tobin, Jenny Middleton, Moira Menzies and Julie. Please call into the Phoenix office to collect your prize.

Christmas Day Lunch in Canowindra: The 7th Canowindra Christmas Day Lunch plans are well underway for another great community lunch. The organisers are in need of committee members to help in the planning and preparations leading up to Christmas and volunteers to help setting up on Christmas Eve and or on Christmas Day. For further information please contact Maureen on 0487 201 300. The Christmas Day Lunch will be held at the Canowindra Bowling Club. It is for anyone who may be alone at Christmas or would like to celebrate with community, sharing great company and food. This is a FREE event supported by the community. No alcohol permitted. Bookings are essential and must be made by 14th December. You can book at Canowindra’s Muzzy’s Quality Meats, Vinnies store and the Food Basket.

Build a Gingerbread House: The Canowindra Creative Centre Inc is once again holding it’s ‘Gingerbread House Fundraising Day’ to be held on Saturday 15th December from 10am to 12.30pm at Orana House. Kits include a good sized pre-made Gingerbread House, icing, lollies, cellophane, ribbon and board. You can buy a kit and share the fun, make it at home or to give it as a gift. Children need to be accompanied by an adult. Bookings by 14th December are essential. For costs, to order a kit or book in please contact Deb on 6344 2490 or email debrutter@bigpond.com.

Teddy Bears Picnic: Will be held this Sunday 25th November at St Edward’s Primary School at 11.30am for Ellie Wild who is unwell. Bring your teddy bear, picnic rug and lunch and help to raise money for the Wild family. If you can’t make the picnic but would like to donate please contact St Edward’s School on 6344 1170.

The Foodworks window has been dressed for the Teddy Bears Picnic by Tommy Jeffs.
