CWA AGM Results: The Canowindra CWA Branch held their AGM last week and are pleased to announce the following officers for 2019: Jan Kerr as President, Vicki Grant is Secretary and Leanne Stevenson as Treasurer. Christine McIlvain was returned as Publicity Officer.

Good Luck: To all the local Cabonne businesses who are finalists at this Friday’s Daroo Business Awards. The Gala Dinner will be held at Eat Your Greens in Eugowra.

Thank You: A huge thank you to everyone who entered our popular spring photo competition. Jess Grant from Jessica Elizabeth Photography is busy judging all the entries. We will announce the winner in next week’s Phoenix.

Fashion at Eddy’s: Held last Sunday was a huge fundraising success for the Canowindra Hospital Auxiliary. 110 tickets were sold and 13 Canowindra businesses donated prizes for the raffle. A special thank you must go to Mark Gardner for allowing his house to be used, he also donated $300 to the Hospital Auxiliary. Mark’s mother Jenny Gardner from Gardner’s Ground Wines also donated 3 cases of Champagne.

Canowindra coming together: This Saturday 3rd November at Morris Park from 12-4pm there will be a sausage sizzle for drought affected farmers and community members put on by the Lions Club. There will also be face painting and a jumping castle for the children. There will be representatives from the DPI and Rural Aid to chat with the community.

Moorbel Markets: Are on again this Saturday from 8am – 12noon at the Moorbel Hall.

Catch of the Week: With the weather warming up and more people out fishing, don’t forget to send in your fishing pics for our Catch of the Week competition. You could win a $30 Fishing Factory Orange voucher just by entering. Send your fishing pics to editor@canowindraphoenix.com.au

Save the Date: For the Annual Phoenix Pink Ribbon Morning Tea to be held on Thursday 15th November from 10am in the front garden at Montrose House.

Family Reunion and 70th Birthday: Pat Sargent and her family celebrated their annual family reunion and Veronica Woodbury’s 70th Birthday at the Canowindra Hotel on the weekend.
