Tractor Trek for Little Wings: Last weekend local Canowindra resident Roy White took part in the Central West Tractor Trek around the Cabonne Shire. There were over 21 tractors in the trek who raised more than $120,000 for Little Wings.

Garage Sale Trail: The Canowindra CWA ladies are decluttering their homes. If you wish to sell items that you don’t need or want and are taking up space you can participate too! This Sunday 21st October from 9am-1pm at the CWA Hall. Table spaces are available for outside vendors for $20 per table. Enquiries contact 6344 2091.

Been Fishing Lately?: If you have been fishing lately why not enter our Catch of the Week competition and go into the draw to WIN a $30 voucher to the Fishing Factory in Orange. Just email your catch with breed and location details to editor@canowindraphoenix.com.au

Dust off your Boots: St Eddie’s will hold their Spring Fling this Friday 19th October from 3pm at the school. There will be boot scooting with band November Shorn, a jumping castle, mechanical bull, wet sponge throw, animal nursery a cake stall and much more!

Save the Date for Open Gardens: The Canowindra High School P&C will hold their annual Open Garden Day on Saturday 27th October in and around 7 gardens throughout Canowindra. Cost is $25 per person for the 7 gardens with children under 18 free. Tickets are available at the High School or at each garden on the day. Morning and afternoon tea and lunch will be available to purchase at the high school throughout the day.

Don’t forget: To enter our latest competition and you could be off to the Australian National Field Days at Borenore. See page 9 for competition details.

Two Weeks Left: To enter our Spring Photo Competition! We have had some great entries so far and it will be hard for Jess Grant from Jessica Elizabeth Photography to pick a winner at the end of the month. If you would like to enter simply email your image to editor@canowindraphoenix.com.au

New Shade: Have you spotted the new bright yellow sun shade at the Canowindra Public School yet? It looks wonderful and certainly brightens up the playground just in time for the hot summer sun!
