Footy Tipping Winner: Pete from Pete’s Truck and Tractor Repairs was this year’s NRL Footy Tipping Winner, he was lucky enough to win a brand new flat screen TV from our sponsor Weily’s Betta Home Living in Orange. The Phoenix would like to thank everyone for participating this year and can’t wait for the 2019 competition!

Lost: A red toolbox fell out of a truck and was lost somewhere on the Moorbel Rd last week between the look-out and Ken’s Service Centre. If you have picked it up please contact the Phoenix on 6344 1846.

Give It: If you have any household items or furniture that you ever want to get rid of donate them to www.giveit.org.au A local Canowindra resident contacted them last week and now a dining table and 6 chairs are going to a woman escaping domestic violence with three children.

Canowindra Show Reminder: Canowindra Show Fine Art, 3D sculpture, 3D recycled and Photography entries for the 2018 Show need to be entered by today (Thursday 13th September). If you have any questions contact Deb on 6344 2490.

Chamber Chatter: The Canowindra Business Chamber, soon to become the Canowindra Business and Progress Association welcomed a diverse group of
people at its last meeting with information exchanged between Cabonne Council, community groups and local businesses. Businesses are asked to welcome and prepare for a lunchtime visit by a Veterans’ Car Club on Thursday 27th September 2018. Cabonne Council is looking into industrial land requirements in Canowindra. If you need industrial land please let Graeme Beasley know. Business owners and employees who park in Gaskill St are  reminded that there are parking limits in place, and if customers are unable to find a park, it can significantly impact business revenue. The next meeting will be held at The Age of Fishes Museum at 5.30 pm on Wednesday 19th September 2018.

Spring Photo Competition: Spring has finally sprung so that means it is time to get your cameras out! The Phoenix is once again holding a Spring Photo Competition in 2018 for all of the community to enter. Get creative and simply snap away then send your photo to editor@canowindraphoenix.com.au or via our Facebook page for your chance to WIN a FREE Family Photography session (worth $150) with talented local photographer Jess Grant from Jessica
Elizabeth Photography.
