Dress Like A Farmer Day: Cabonne Blayney Family Day Care have been raising money for the farmers who are struggling in this drought. Last week on the 15th and 16th August Cabonne Family Day Care held a Dress Like A Farmer Day and the children were encouraged to bring a donation so that Cabonne Blayney Family Day Care can give it to the ‘Buy a Bale’ campaign. Pictured above is Tulley, Teddy, Hunter and Harry dressed as Farmers at Jackie Watson’s place.

Canowindra Showgirl Update: Applications for the 2018 Showgirl Competition close on Saturday 25th August. Why not get together with some friends and apply! Have some fun and unlock your potential! Who can apply? Junior Showgirl – ages 13-17 and Senior Showgirl – ages 18-25. Application forms are available from Carolyn Austin on 0427 150 277 or carolynaustin2@bigpond.com at The Shearing Shed, Gaskill St, Canowindra or via the website www.agshowsnsw.org.au/competitions/showgirl-and-rural-achiever. All completed applications can be left at Canowindra Pharmacy.

Women’s Rugby Union: A Facebook page has been created to assist in gathering expressions of interest for a Women’s Rugby Union team in Canowindra for the 2019 season. The Central West Women’s competition is heating up and getting competitive and are looking for more girls/women 17+ to join in. Rugby is one of the fastest growing women’s sport in Australia at the moment and the tournament will run against 10 other teams. The competition runs on the Saturday. If you’re interested in playing, don’t mind getting a bit dirty and love team sport. Come and join or spread the word and help get some more numbers. Lawrence’s IGA Canowindra: Are now taking grocery donations to be sent to farmers in need. IGA have a trolley at the front of the store, either make a purchase and just pop it in the trolley or bring in any grocery item you may have at home that you would like to donate and IGA will do the rest, every little bit helps.

Colouring In Winner: Hannah Gordon was the winner of the Over 5’s Christmas in July Colouring in Competition! Well Done Hannah we hope you enjoy your prize!
