Catch of the Week: George Delaney from Canowindra caught these King Fish on a recent fishing trip to Nowra.

Great News: Cabonne Council have advised Cr Cheryl Newsom that they are preparing a plan to redesign the current garden bed at the corner of Tilga and Ferguson Streets (known as Sheps Corner). This will involve the removal of the existing soil, a reconfiguration of the rock edging, along with a replanting of more appropriate plants. The existing Historic Town sign will be located at the rear of the bed, which will give maximum exposure to the new plantings.

Single Use Plastic Bags: Lawrences IGA in Canowindra will become plastic bag free on 30 June 2018. Please start bringing your reusable bags to the store now to get in the habit.

Canowindra Red Cross Branch: Members of the branch wish to advise that the branch was closed on 26th March 2018. The branch would like to take this opportunity to thank the local community for their most generous support in the past.

The Make It Bake It Grow It Market: A big thank you must go to the volunteers who helped bring the event together, the stall holders, the visitors and locals who supported it, a special thanks to the Canowindra Services Club for access to the auditorium, to those businesses who allowed the CCC to promote the Market, also to Cabonne Council whose support enabled the event to happen.

Hansen + Healy Style Show: Hansen’s Eye Care Plus Optometrists in Orange have teamed up with Healy Optical from Sydney to bring you the Hansen + Healy Mid-Year Style Show on Wednesday 9th May from 9am to 6pm. On the day there will be expert frame stylists and consultants from both Healy Optical Services and Hansen Optometrists. There will be giveaways and lucky door prizes throughout the day with a Seiko watch, sunglasses and optical frames all up for grabs. All frames will boast 20% off on the day and are claimable on your health fund.
