Shop Canowindra This Christmas

26 November, 2020 By Canowindra Phoenix Editor

The Christmas Shopping Days sub-committee of the Canowindra Business Chamber and Progress Association (CBCPA) have been working tirelessly for the last few weeks to facilitate and promote shopping at local businesses this Christmas. The Christmas Shopping Days are being held 25th – 28th November. The main shopping day will be Saturday, 28th, November with participating shops open until 7pm.

Shopping Days ticket books will be provided to all participating businesses and every $10 spent at a participating business will entitle the shopper to a shopping day ticket for a prize draw of cash vouchers from Council. Shoppers will be required to fill out their tickets and place them in the ‘big barrel’ out the front of The Old Vic Inn.

The Council cash voucher prizes will be valued at 1st prize $300, 2nd prize $200 and 3rd prize $100. Additionally, participating businesses have donated vouchers valued at over $500, which will become part of a CBCPA raffle draw.

The main prize draw in addition to the CBCPA raffle will be staged after 7pm on Saturday, 28th out the front of The Old Vic Inn, with winners posted on the CBCPA Facebook page.

Shoppers will be able to enjoy live music throughout the day outside the Old Vic Inn, which has been a collaboration between The Old Vic Inn, Rouge Carriage Cafe and the Canowindra Hotel.

Lunch will be available from the Royal Hotel, Old Vic Inn and Canowindra Hotel. The Lions Club BBQ will be at Montrose House and Muzzy’s Meats will be providing a taste selection of BBQ meats out the front of their store.

Canowindra Lions Club have installed the Santa Claus profiles throughout Canowindra on top of shop fronts. They are also supporting a roaming Santa to bring some extra Christmas cheer to the main street.
