The largest seniors festival in the Southern Hemisphere is coming to the Cowra Shire. Themed ‘Reach Beyond’, the 2024 NSW Seniors Festival in Cowra will run from Monday 11th to Sunday 24th March, delivering many free and discounted activities, workshops, and performances for seniors across the Cowra Shire.
“There are so many ways to Reach Beyond and celebrate seniors at the festival, with fun and entertaining events happening that will inspire seniors to be active, socialise, and share their skills and wisdom, all while connecting with their community,” said Cowra Mayor, Cr Ruth Fagan.
The main event for this year’s Festival will be the Made in Australia Concert at 2pm on Friday 15th March at Club Cowra. This free music concert is headlined by Australia’s favourite entertainers, Eddie Daniels and Suzie Lee, and takes the audience down a time warp of Australia’s best home-grown music. The show features songs from Col Joye, Judy Stone, Slim Dusty, John Williamson, Olivia and The Seekers to name a few.
“The variety of activities on offer this year wouldn’t be possible without the support of several local organisations who all actively contribute to the program. It’s a testament to Cowra’s community spirit to have such great partnerships that allow us to present this wonderful fortnight of events,” Cr Fagan said.
The Festival will kick off on Monday 11th March at the Cowra Aquatic Centre with a free morning tea and giveaway bags. Over the following two weeks, there will be a plethora of engaging events including painting workshops, photography exhibitions, trivia, theatre, movies, luncheons and high tea.
While many events are free, bookings are essential to secure your place. Please visit Council’s website to download the full program and find how to secure your spot.
