Jenny Eriksson pictured far right, has collaborated with Music Director Andrew Baker on the 2025 Baroquefest program.
Canowindra Baroquefest 2025, only four months away on 19-21 September, is the most varied five concert festival to be presented during Baroquefest’s eleven year history.
This year no less than eleven musicians will play and sing as various ensembles at All Saints Church, Wild Iris (formerly Wallington) vineyard and cellar door, Billimari Hall and Rosnay Organic Wines cellar door. As usual, a range of passes on offer will include a sumptuous lunch (Wild Iris), dinner (Rosnay) and/or a classic CWA catered morning tea (Billimari).
The program was developed by Baroquefest’s Music Director Andrew Baker in collaboration with Jenny Eriksson, leader of two globetrotting Australian ensembles, The Marais Project and Elysian Fields.
These groups have played at previous Baroquefests with great acclaim.
This year Jenny has brought on board HIP Company with soprano Bonnie de la Hunty, two violins, viola da gamba and lutes to perform “Bedlam”, a musical exploration of the dark fascination of madness and the humanpsyche in the Baroque period.
Concert four, “Baroque Meets Bebop at Canowindra” at Billimari Hall will be by Peter Doublinski (classical guitar) and Elsen Price (double base). They say “it explores the shared tradition of crafting melodies through the creative embellishment of chord progression- a musical practice that transcends time and genre”.
