School Holiday Fun

School-holidays-are-here

Stuck for ideas coming up to the winter school holidays? Don’t despair; there are plenty of things for the kids to do around Canowindra during term break.

Various tennis programs are held throughout the year at the Canowindra tennis courts conducted by Tennis Australia Club Professional coach, Helen Garratt. An ANZ Hotshots School Holiday Tennis Clinic will run from Wednesday July 1st to Friday July 3rd, from 10am to 12 noon. Cost is $25 per day or $70 for the 3 days. ANZ Hotshots lessons are held on Monday and Tuesday afternoons during the school terms as well as Cardio tennis for the adults on Tuesday evenings.

Term 3 lessons start in the second week of July and cost $90 for the whole 8 week term, and cardio tennis is available for $10 per class. Private lessons are also available on request. Enrolments are now open for the school holiday clinic, term 3 lessons and cardio tennis.

Since “Old Jack Frost” has returned and the cold has settled upon the Central West, parents and kids will no doubt be looking for a warm and exciting place to go this school holidays. Why not pay a visit to the Age Of Fishes Museum and explore Canowindra’s unique fossilised fauna, described by Sir David Attenborough on his recent visit as “world class”.

During the winter school holidays, between the 1st and 19th of July, kids can discover the Museum, learn about their local natural history and find out where their ancestors came from free of charge. One child under 16 years old will be given free entry into the Museum for each paying adult or senior in their group.

The Age Of Fishes Museum is the perfect place to warm up with some old rocks, come face to face with 360 million year old fossils that inhabited the world long before the dinosaurs, and discover what might lie beneath your own backyard.
