Last week, the Department of Education informed all Family Day Care Services of their new Amendment of Service Approval of the maximum number of Family Day Care Educators services can employ. It also notified services of their new ratios for Coordinators to Educators, which is 1:15 for all NSW Family Day Care Services.
The Educator Cap is the limit number of Family Day Care Educators a service can register with them. Cabonne/Blayney Family Day Care (CBFDC) currently have 26 Registered Educators and 3 Prospective Educators with the service, and the service has been informed they cannot employ more than 15 educators. Meaning only 15 educators can register, not 26 or more.
CBFDC have until 28th March 2018, to fight this decision and increase the Educator Cap to a higher number. The service will receive notification if the response will be approved in early April. If the application is unsuccessful, CBFDC will have the right to apply for an internal review of this decision.
This will affect a massive amount of families and 11 Educators will be unemployed. CBFDC invite all families to write a letter of support and ask you to include how this will affect you and your family with the Educator Cap. Email support letters to email@example.com
