What happens if someone sees you?
Kids see me all the time! I’ve even had a few boys and girls in Canowindra catch me as I was delivering their presents. Some- times kids can’t believe it so they think they must have dreamed it and they never know it truly happened.
Does Rudolph’s nose get hot?
It used to. Since we’ve upgraded to LED it stays nice and cool which is good because we get very hot when we arrive in Australia. Mrs Claus packs me some board shorts so I can get changed if it gets too hot. She calls them my “baggy reds” and they are perfect for hot Christmases in Canowindra.
Do the reindeer get tired?
Of course. That’s why I tell them to never skip leg day! The reindeer like to spend Boxing Day in Australia so they can sit in the pool all day then it’s back to training on the 27th so they can go just as fast next year!
Why do you sometimes use the same wrapping paper as my mum?
Because your mum has excellent taste! If the elves are super busy they put your presents in my sleigh unwrapped. I have to wrap them while I’m in your house. I can wrap a present in 1.567392 seconds if your mum has her wrapping paper box well labelled.
Is it true that your sleigh runs on “Christmas spirit?”
It does. Some years we struggle but this year Christmas spirit is up! Everyone needs a bit of a cheer up after all the trouble caused by the pandemic and Christmas is famous for its cheer. You can help boost Christmas spirit by being kind to others and of course singing your favourite Christmas carols!
Is it hard to stay awake all night?
Yes and no. I am full of yummy biccies and milk and I’d love a nap but Christmas Eve is the busiest night of the year so I have to make sure I’m awake in case we have any problems with the sleigh’s machinery. As you kids know, machinery does break down and it can be tricky to fix. Last year, I needed a little help and Canowindra is full of farmers so they knew just what to do but they promised they wouldn’t tell their kids they saw me. Could those farmers have been your parents? Let the Phoenix know with an email to editor@canowindraphoenix.com.au.
