Harvest 2014 has begun with first deliveries of canola being accepted at our sites. Early reports of yields of the “black gold” are good with most growers pleased with results so far. If you are a canola grower and require daily canola delivered to our sites, please contact our office and ask to be on our text message service. We currently take delivery of canola at our Canowindra, Gooloogong and Eugowra Silos. This season we also have a second Canowindra delivery site at the previous Graincorp Facility as CPC is currently taking the lease on this site and will be accepting canola. We also take delivery of the specialty Nuseed Monola variety at our CPC Canowindra Facility. Which this season attracted a $95/ton premium payment. This is a variety that continues to increase in planting each season.
Hay season is in full swing with the majority of cereal hay already pressed and baled along with first cut lucerne. Smalls bales of lucerne were in demand early due to lack of supply toward the end of last hay season. Lucerne in large squares is currently sitting firm in money but little is being traded at the present time. Cereal Hay is currently trading, though not in current strong demand at this time and purchasers are currently price driven. The dry start to the hay season has been good for cereal hay producers with most of this seasons hay receiving nil or very little rain damage. The season outlook looks promising for hay if the early hot weather and little rainfall is any indication of what this summer could be like. Second cut Lucerne will soon be available and CPC will be looking to purchase chaff quality lucerne hay for our needs along with feed grade hay , so please call our Canowindra Produce office if you are looking to sell your hay supplies on 63441504.
